Privacy policy

This is a courtesy translation. The German version of this privacy policy is legally binding.

Last updated: 13 October 2026. This privacy policy explains which personal data we process on this website, for what purpose and what rights you have. The legal basis is the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG).

Hosting

This website is hosted on servers of Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. The hosting is managed by Highstyle (Kevin Mavro), who acts as our processor in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR. Processing takes place exclusively in Germany. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure and reliable provision of the website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

Server log files

When you visit the website, information is automatically stored in server log files: IP address, date and time, page accessed, amount of data transferred, browser type and operating system. This data serves technical security and error analysis and is not merged with other data sources. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Log files are deleted after 14 days at the latest.

AI adviser in the contact window

You can use an AI adviser in the contact window. That an artificial intelligence answers there and not a person is stated visibly in the window before you ask your first question (Art. 50 of the EU AI Act).

Your question, the conversation so far and the language go to our own server and from there to our automation service n8n, which runs at Hostinger in the European Union. From there the text goes to OpenAI to be answered. OpenAI also processes data in the USA; this transfer is based on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses (Art. 46 (2) (c) GDPR), which form part of the data processing agreement with OpenAI. So do not write anything into the chat that you would not put into an e-mail, in particular no health data and no data about other people.

We store the conversation, the language and the page where it started. We do not store your IP address. Messages are tied to a conversation through a random identifier that only exists for as long as your browser tab is open and is not a cookie. Conversations without contact details are deleted after 90 days, conversations with contact details after 12 months, like enquiries.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in quick advice (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), and for an enquiry also the initiation of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). You do not have to use the adviser: WhatsApp, e-mail, phone and the form remain available.

Visitor counting without cookies

So that we can see which pages are read, we count page views ourselves, on our own server. No cookie is set and nothing is stored in your browser. No service from Google or any other provider is involved.

We only store daily totals: date, page, language and the rough origin of the visit (for example „google“, „instagram“ or „direct“). Your IP address is not stored. So that you are not counted twice on the same day, the server creates a checksum from IP address, browser identifier and a random value that changes daily. This checksum exists only in memory and expires at midnight at the latest. No person can be identified from these figures.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in designing the website to meet demand (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Since no information is stored in or read from your device, no consent under Sec. 25 TDDDG is required. If your browser sends „Do Not Track“ or „Global Privacy Control“, we do not count you at all.

Cookies

This website sets no cookies, not even for analysis or advertising. That is why there is no cookie banner. The only exception is the AI adviser: if you use it, your browser keeps the conversation and a random identifier in session storage for as long as the tab is open, so the conversation survives a reload. This is necessary for the service you requested (Section 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG) and ends when you close the tab.

Contact form

If you write to us via the contact form, we process your topic, your name, your e-mail address, optionally phone number, town or address, and your message in order to handle and answer your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (initiation or performance of a contract) or Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR for general questions. The enquiry is stored in our website system and also delivered to us by e-mail.

The form e-mails are sent from our own mailbox info@echt-bauen.de through the mail server of our hosting provider Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany (processing on our behalf under Art. 28 GDPR, processing in Germany). No additional mailing service is used.

We store enquiries for 12 months after processing is complete and then delete them unless statutory retention obligations apply.

Contact by e-mail, phone and WhatsApp

If you contact us by e-mail, phone or WhatsApp, we process your details to handle your enquiry (Art. 6 (1) (b) and (f) GDPR). With WhatsApp, data is transferred to WhatsApp Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland. By clicking a WhatsApp link you open the app yourself, and the WhatsApp privacy policy applies. Photos you send us for project support are used only to answer your question.

Google Maps (only after clicking)

On the contact page you can load a map from Google Maps. The map is only embedded after you click. No connection to Google is established before that. By clicking you consent to data (including your IP address) being transferred to Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, Section 25 (1) TDDDG). YouTube (only after clicking)

On the “About us” page we show the latest videos from our YouTube channel @Claycasein.original. Titles and preview images are stored on our own server; no connection to YouTube is established when the page loads. The YouTube player is loaded only after you click a video and confirm “Play video”. We use youtube-nocookie.com (privacy-enhanced mode): YouTube does not store cookies on your device before playback. By clicking you consent to data (including your IP address) being transferred to Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, Section 25 (1) TDDDG). During playback YouTube may process further data and set cookies, especially if you are signed in there. Google privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy

Instagram

We show posts from our Instagram profile @claycasein.original on this website. The images and texts are stored on our own server, no Instagram content is embedded and no connection to Instagram is established when the page loads. Only when you click a post or the link to our profile do you leave our website, and the privacy policy of Meta Platforms Ireland Limited then applies.

Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21 GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, for example the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Baden-Württemberg. The website is delivered encrypted via HTTPS. We take technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, manipulation and unauthorised access.
